IIRC, you're supposed to idle up these engines at like 800 - 900 rpm if your gonna idle for any length of time. I have heard (here at TTR I think) that you're not supposed to low idle these new engines at 500 - 600 rpms. Is it a Frieghtliner warranty issue? I don't know Adjustable Parameters Figure 1. I went inside & asked them to come show me how to get this new truck to idle. In this kind of season, Kenworth trucks are too hot inside, so the truck is idle. The day I picked it up it was hot (June) & I was attempting to idle the truck & I couldn't get it to idle for more that maybe 4 or 5 minutes while trying to move stuff from the old truck to the new one.
I have a 2015 Cascadia that we lease from Ryder. I'm not sure if this will help you but here is my experience.
